On Wednesday, the Office of the Oklahoma Attorney General released thousands of pages of emails between Scott Pruitt, his senior staff, and high-level executives, lobbyists, and lawyers in the fossil fuel industry that show how Pruitt worked to further the financial and political agenda of the very people that he, as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, is now tasked with regulating.

The latest example comes from the new head of the EPA, Scott Pruitt, whose emails have revealed his close relationships to the oil and gas industry. Dated from when he served as Oklahoma’s Attorney General, the emails were withheld during Pruitt’s EPA confirmation hearing by the State Attorney General’s office, which submitted 7,500 pages of emails to the Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) Tuesday night.
Today, Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, released the following statement regarding Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter’s request to the state Supreme Court to delay the release of documents that former Oklahoma Attorney General, and current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator, Scott Pruitt has refused to disclose for over two years.
