The Center for Media and Democracy obtained this email from documented insurrectionist Cleta Mitchell to American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) lawmakers asking them to pass the “Only Citizens Vote” model policy at ALEC’s 2024 Annual Meeting. In the email, Mitchell claims, without proof, that, “There is a growing recognition that the threat of noncitizen voting having an outsized impact on our elections in 2024 –and beyond – must be addressed.” Mitchell’s Only Citizens Vote Coalition also promoted the model policy at the ALEC meeting, The Guardian reported. ALEC’s board finalized the model policy on August 30.
