When asked by at his confirmation hearing if he ever used a private email account, Scott Pruitt told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee: “I use only my official OAG email address and government-issued phone to conduct official business.”
CMD first raised a red flag around Pruitt’s use of his private email with the Oklahoma County Court, in a February 13thaffidavit based on a review of an initial 411 documents released by Pruitt’s office. Since then, additional documents have surfaced showing Pruitt’s personal email use and the Oklahoma AG’s office has confirmed that Pruitt did in fact use his personal email to conduct official business.
CMD has now identified more examples of emails to Pruitt’s private email in a batch of documents released under court order to CMD. These emails are below.
